Do Nows:
Every time class begins, their will be a "Do Now" question on the board for that class which is expected to be answered in that class's notebook. That question is either a recap from the previous day's lesson, or an introduction to the current day's lesson, and should take no more than 5 minutes to complete. The students are expected to write three things for their "Do Now":
1. Write the date
2. Write the question down
3. Answer the question using a complete sentence
The "Do Now" will be checked by a teacher's assistant who will be looking for the three expected parts of the "Do Now". If all three parts are accounted for, then the student earns their points for meeting expectations. If not all three parts are accounted for, then the student does not earn their points for meeting expectations. "Do Nows" are worth 5 points each day, and are part of the classwork percentage grade.

Absences:
If class is missed, it is the student's responsibility to meet with a fellow student or myself to obtain notes and homework assignments. Any worksheets that were handed out during an absence may be found in the Weekly Work Folders. It is also the student's responsibility to turn in any assignments that were due during their absence when they return. Absent students will have 2 days to complete and turn in missing assignments/assessments that were assigned while absent, otherwise the assignment grade will result in a zero.

Tardies:
At the beginning of the school year, students will have a one week grace period to learn the rules, routines, and procedures before being marked tardy for class. Beginning Thursday, August 22nd, students will begin to earn tardies for being late/leaving the classroom. A student who comes to class after the bell has rung without a pass from a teacher is marked tardy. Also, a student who leaves the room (to use the restroom, to get a drink, to get something out of their locker) will be marked tardy.

Google:
Students will have access to Chroombooks within my classroom. Therefore, I will be utilizing Google Classroom for many of my assignments and assessments. Students may also access this work in hard copy form if they request it. Each student will have their own Google account, so they will also become familiar with creating work and projects with Google apps.

No Homework Passes:
At the beginning of each quarter, students may receive one "No Homework Pass" to be used in case of an "I didn't get my homework done" emergency for each class. Using the pass gives the student an automatic 100% on the assignment. If a "No Homework Pass" is not used throughout the quarter, students may turn in the pass for 25 extra credit points. The "No Homework Pass" is non-transferable from student to student or class to class. No homework passes must be turned in at the time that the assignment is due and no later.
